The day
We adopt a flexible, child led approach to the flow of activities, and follow the Waldorf ethos of a ‘rhythm of the day’ to inspire and organise the way the camps work. With this in mind we have a loose schedule which the children will fill with their enthusiasm, energy and ideas. Every session will be different, depending on weather, the particular children enrolled, and our own planning, so if your child comes for one session, or all the sessions, they will have a unique, fun-packed and enriching day! We believe in providing a full day of creative opportunities by offering prompts, materials, time, space and encouragement! We will be outside as much as possible!!

Why is art important??
Art gives children so many things. Here are just a few of them:
– Art is fun!
– It develops Imagination and Creativity – which are important in childhood and adulthood!
– It gives children opportunities for sensory engagement, which is vital in child development for so many reasons!
– Art allows for self-expression, which improves mental and physical wellbeing
– It provides opportunity for learning – art has been proven to enhance literacy development in young children, not to mention learning in science, maths, language, history, geography and culture…
– Art improves fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and even gross motor skills.
– Collaborative art offers so many possibilities for teamwork, communication, friendship building skills, leadership development and lots more!
These are just some of the reasons why I whole heartedly believe art is vital for children (and grown ups!)!
